Ok! o.k. o.k. o.k.!!

The peer pressure is just too much!!!  (yeah right)  I admit it.  The weekend was a disaster.   Friday and Saturday were reenactments of The Chainsaw massacre, only with Pizza and umm… other food groups… baaaad food groups.  The kind of food that needs it’s own adult rating system.  I fumbled on Saturday but I recovered on Sunday and I’m back on track.

Darn emotional eating.  I hate it.   The worst part of it is the mental state of not caring.  When I’m on an emotional eating binge I cannot force myself to care.  I’m working on ways of diverting myself by playing the mandolin or immersing myself in a project of some sort.   Most of my time is work and taking care of the parental units and during the spare time I worry worry worry.

I wonder what it’s like to be rich and have other people losing weight for you. :P

Sticking to my carb allowance and meal portions is the way to go.  I’m remotivated and ready to go.  grrrr!!  I’m fierce.  :D

The Heart Palpitation Diet

I had an “experience” this weekend that’s not really weight loss related (unless you count losing calories from abject terror).   I felt I had to share my little trip into the unknown.

First of all, I live in New Mexico.  It’s called the Land of Enchantment for a very good reason.  We have our share of supernatural/paranormal occurances (don’t even get me started on Roswell).

Friday night I was talking to my nephew and he said he had a ghostly experience earlier on that night.  He was visiting a friend who lives about two blocks from us in the “Old Huntsman House.”  It looks like the Amityville house.  Even has the same two windows that look like angry eyes.  I used to get the shivers driving by that house at night.

While Justin (my nephew) was visiting Joe (his friend) he noticed a light going on and off in the upper story of the house.  About 20 years ago the house was converted to apartments after old man Huntsman died and the grandson has been renting it out since.  After several minutes of this Justin got a little curious.

 Justin:  “Hey Joe, who’s upstairs?”

Joe:  “Nobody, I don’t have any tenants right now.”

Justin: “Well, someone is up there.”

Joe: “Why do you say that?”

Justin:  “The light is going on and off.”

Joe: “Oh that.  It’s probably the ghost.”

 Justin left.

Saturday night Justin was out with Joe and decided to walk home from the Huntsman house.  He does this just about every night.  My bedroom window faces the front yard and I have a clear view of the front walk.  I heard our little dog whining and I looked out the window to see what was going on.  It was about 11:30 and the front porch light was off but the yard was illuminated by the livingroom windows.   I noticed Justin coming up the walk.  I then noticed something else that turned my blood to ice and the hair actually stood up on the back of my neck.

There was a black shadow following him.  It was right behind him.  It was darker than the shadows cast by the lights coming from the living room windows.  It was the blackest black I’ve ever seen.  Just when I saw it the shadow seemed to turn my way and then (there is no way I can describe this without using hand motions) it zipped away.  Kind of in an J shape.  I know,  it sounds weird.  That’s the best way I can describe it.  It had kind of a knob stretching out towards Justin’s back when I first glimpsed it and that portion was the part that turned towards me when I pulled the curtain back.  Then it just kind of slid out and up… in a j shape.

I can’t stop thinking about it.   I didn’t tell my nephew.  What do I say?  “Hey, guess what.. there was a black mass about to devour you last night…. ” or  “Satan followed ya home!” in a cheerful voice.

I haven’t slept for two days.  I have to admit it.  I’m scared.  :(
